Hi there, I’m Emily.
I’m so glad you’re here.
It takes a lot of courage to begin the healing process, and I’m here to help. I believe that transformative change is possible, and that it begins with acknowledging our vulnerabilities and pain. It is my privilege to create and foster a safe space in which to explore the things that make us uniquely human: our emotions, thoughts, and relationships.
It is my belief that healing involves a holistic approach: body, mind, and spirit. And I seek to incorporate treatment modalities that target all three aspects of our shared humanity throughout the healing process.
Throughout my professional career, I’ve had the privilege of learning and expanding my clinical knowledge by studying the effects of trauma on neurobiology, attachment, and human development. I often incorporate principles of Interpersonal Neurobiology, Polyvagal Theory, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics in my treatment approaches. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based treatment for acute, chronic, and complex trauma.
I enjoy treating adults, children & families, and focus primarily on treating the following issues:
· Trauma: Developmental, Acute, Complex, Systemic & PTSD
· Attachment Disorders in Families of Foster Care & Adoption
· Addiction & Recovery
· Anxiety Disorders: Generalized, OCD, Panic Disorder, etc.
· Mood Disorders: Bipolar Disorder, Major Depression, Cyclothymia, Dysthymia, etc.
· Spiritual Abuse Recovery & Spiritual Direction
· Perinatal & Postpartum Mood Disorders
